About the Company
Tōnui Collab is a charitable trust dedicated to empowering young people to explore and thrive through diverse and inclusive STEMM learning experiences. The organisation delivers innovative programmes through school workshops, after-school sessions, school holiday programmes, and marae-based wānanga. Activities are hosted at the STEMM Lab on the Mātai Research campus and within the wider community. Tōnui Collab operates within a reo rua kaupapa, facilitating learning in both te reo Māori and English, and embraces the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, and Mātauranga Māori.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate engagement with schools, kura kaupapa, and community groups
- Build and maintain strong relationships with education and community partners
- Support the scheduling, logistics, and delivery of STEMM programmes
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of school and community activities
- Assist with organising workshops, wānanga, and community events
- Help identify and reduce barriers to accessing STEMM learning
- Support the delivery of culturally responsive and inclusive learning environments
Requirements
- Reliable, flexible, and well organised with strong time-management skills
- Confidence in kōrero Māori to support Māori medium learning environments
- Experience working with schools, community organisations, or youth programmes
- Interest in education, STEMM, and community development
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
