Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Communicate with guests and colleagues in a friendly, tactful, and professional manner.
  • Provide accurate information regarding hotel facilities and services.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy appearance aligned with hotel grooming standards.
  • Remain flexible with work responsibilities, areas, and roster as required.
  • Keep supervisors informed of any issues that may affect service or reputation.
  • Support guests, colleagues, and suppliers with understanding and professionalism.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Report incidents, accidents, and guest complaints during briefings.
  • Follow all instructions from supervisors and comply with the Employee Handbook.

Technical Responsibilities

Rooms

  • Clean and set up guest rooms according to established hotel standards.
  • Prepare work trolleys, caddy baskets, tricycles, or buggies as required.
  • Follow procedures related to:
    • Key handling
    • Do Not Disturb (DND)
    • Babysitting
    • Room discrepancy
    • Lost & Found
    • Elsafe usage
    • Loan items
    • Breakage reporting
    • Shoe shine service
    • In-room coffee & tea setup
    • Mini bar checks
    • Guest laundry pickup
    • AC setup

Linen, Wardrobe & Tailoring

  • Follow linen and uniform exchange procedures.
  • Organize linen and uniform storage areas.
  • Participate in linen and uniform inventory.
  • Deliver guest room linen to pantries.
  • Maintain and mend employee uniforms.
  • Report any damaged linens or uniforms promptly.
  • Ensure sewing machines and equipment are operational.

Public Area

  • Follow cleaning procedures for polishing, vacuuming, mopping, shampooing, washing, dusting, scrubbing, and deep cleaning.
  • Complete public area or room crew assignment sheets.
  • Operate housekeeping machinery and use chemicals according to standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas and public restrooms.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, room attendant, or cleaning roles within a hotel or luxury residence (preferred).
  • Knowledge of modern cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to excellence in cleanliness.
  • Understanding of laundry care, fabric handling, steaming, and stain removal.
  • Clear communication and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or shifted schedules as needed.
  • Proficiency in English is essential.
