Equipment Operator Job In Canada

The Equipment Operator-EN plays a key role in maintaining a premier golf course environment at Hylands Golf Club, part of Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS). This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy outdoor work, have experience with powered and manual equipment, and take pride in contributing to pristine grounds and exceptional facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate powered and manual equipment including tractors, front-end loaders, backhoes, fairway mowers, rough mowers, out-front rotary mowers, chippers, seeders, rototillers, and verti-cutters
  • Maintain 36-hole golf course playing surfaces, including greens, fairways, and roughs
  • Build and repair sand bunkers, dig ditches for irrigation installation or repair
  • Repair ball marks, maintain flags, putting cups, tee towels, bunker rakes, and ball washers
  • Wash and clean specialized equipment and ensure proper functionality
  • Haul materials and supplies to various locations on the golf course
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental practices at all times

Requirements

  • Valid Class G driver’s license (Ontario) or equivalent
  • Experience operating landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment
  • Knowledge of groundskeeping practices, turf care, and plant maintenance
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting (10–50 lbs/4.5–23 kg)
  • Experience in landscaping, turf maintenance, or groundskeeping
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
