Responsibilities
As a Coating Inspector, your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting surfaces prior to coating to ensure proper preparation, including blasting and cleaning
- Monitoring coating application processes to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- Conducting tests such as dry film thickness (DFT), adhesion, and holiday detection using specialized equipment
- Identifying and reporting coating defects, including pinholes, blisters, runs, and sags
- Maintaining detailed inspection records and preparing reports for QA/QC documentation
- Ensuring all coating activities adhere to safety and environmental regulations
- Collaborating with production and QA teams to resolve non-conformities
- Attending project meetings and providing technical input on coating-related matters
- Staying updated with the latest coating technologies and inspection practices
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Diploma or degree in engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in coating inspection, preferably in modular fabrication or industrial projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to prepare detailed technical reports
