Aircraft Worker/Washer Job In Japan

Amentum is hiring a qualified Aircraft Worker/Washer to support operations at Kadena Air Base, 18th EMS. This role involves cleaning and maintaining aircraft and components, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with safety standards. The position is ideal for individuals with aviation maintenance experience and the ability to work in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Wash and rinse external and internal surfaces of aircraft and components
  • Perform pre/post wash lubrication of aircraft
  • Install and remove protective covers
  • Move aircraft using towing equipment
  • Operate ground support equipment and portable firefighting equipment
  • Prepare aircraft for washing, including taping vents and securing protective covers
  • Polish and clean windscreens and canopies
  • Comply with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control programs
  • Follow all industrial and general safety rules
  • Obtain and maintain required government/company Ground Support Equipment licenses
  • Use two-way communication equipment as required
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • US Passport
  • Ability to work assigned shifts and schedules
  • Meet physical requirements and pass medical examinations for daily tasks
  • Ability to obtain facility credentials/authorization
  • English language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ months of aviation maintenance or mechanical experience
  • Familiarity with operational safety requirements around aircraft and ground support equipment
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions for aircraft cleaning equipment

Skills

  • Operation of aircraft ground servicing equipment (vehicles, tugs, tractors, high-pressure wash systems)
  • Attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining aircraft
  • Knowledge of aviation maintenance procedures and safety protocols
  • Ability to work in extreme weather and high-noise environments
  • Physical stamina and endurance for demanding working conditions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
