Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and water treatment systems
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for plumbing layouts
- Cut, thread, and assemble pipes and fittings using hand and power tools
- Install sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, water heaters, and other fixtures
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper function
- Perform plumbing inspections and recommend improvements
- Work on sewer lines, water lines, gas lines, drains, and other plumbing systems
- Follow safety protocols and company regulations at all times
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient plant operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of plumbing experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the USA
- Ability to work independently and respond to direction
- Willingness to work long hours (12+ hours/day, 7 days/week) in a seasonal environment
- Ability to work in remote areas of Alaska and in seafood processing conditions
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) and perform physical labor
- Knowledge of plumbing techniques, materials, and mechanical systems
Skills
- Proficient in blueprint reading and plumbing layouts
- Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairs
- Skilled in pipe threading, cutting, and precise installation
- Knowledge of water, gas, and sewer systems
- Ability to maintain safety standards in a challenging environment
