House Chef Job In Japan

Spacecurve is seeking a talented House Chef to operate its unique in-house café and restaurant in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. This role focuses on creating healthy, nutrient-focused meals and beverages for a small, dynamic team while supporting overall workplace wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the in-house café and restaurant for up to ~25 people
  • Plan dishes, purchase ingredients, track inventory, and maintain a clean kitchen
  • Cook and serve high-quality breakfast and lunch offerings
  • Create frequently rotating menus featuring international and Asian cuisines
  • Prepare specialty coffee and health-focused beverages
  • Design dishes with attention to taste, nutrition, and dietary goals (e.g., protein-rich, low glycemic index)
  • Lead a small support team (1–2 people) if needed
  • Ensure cost-effective inventory management and sustainable sourcing
  • Apply nutritional knowledge to craft meals that support wellness objectives

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge or strong interest in nutritional science
  • Experience in sustainable sourcing and inventory management
  • Ability to create innovative, health-focused recipes and drinks
  • Leadership ability to manage a small support team
  • Experience in a professional kitchen or acclaimed café/restaurant is a plus
  • Proficiency in English or Japanese
