The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our team at the Mexico Maintenance Facility. This is an entry-level to career-ladder position that allows for professional growth and advancement without competitive interviews. You’ll play a key role in maintaining highways, facilities, and equipment while supporting public safety and transportation operations.

Responsibilities
- Maintain state highway systems: fill joints, patch potholes, flag traffic, set up traffic control devices, haul and spread materials, clear brush, and remove debris.
- Maintain state highway facilities: repair and replace road signs and guardrails, paint buildings and equipment, clean curbs/gutters, and service machinery.
- Operate vehicles and equipment: trucks, tractors, backhoes, forklifts, aerial booms, and plows for snow and ice control.
- Repair bridges and drains, clean bridge bents/caps, and work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
- Install structural and overhead signs, pour concrete footings, weld and cut steel posts, and maintain breakaway/overlay signs.
- Perform routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Pass written portion of CDL exam prior to hire; must pass driving portion within 60 days with Class B (tanker, no air brake restrictions) and interstate status.
- Successful completion of work simulation and medical-physical exams.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various conditions.
- Must be able to operate hand tools, machinery, and vehicles safely.
- Willingness to work overtime, nighttime, or emergency operations when needed.
