Responsibilities

As a Pastry Commis II, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing high-quality food items according to guest orders, following recipes and presentation standards.
  • Performing mise en place and setting up stations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
  • Operating, maintaining, and cleaning kitchen equipment such as fryers, ovens, steamers, mixers, and more.
  • Managing food storage, including proper labeling, rotation, and temperature control to minimize waste.
  • Assisting in other areas of the department as needed.
  • Supporting the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and other senior kitchen staff in daily operations.
  • Ensuring effective use of hotel resources and compliance with operational policies.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of two years of culinary or related work experience.
  • Advanced culinary knowledge, particularly in pastry.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Valid work permission for Japan.
  • Proficiency in English and Japanese (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

  • Exceptional knife skills and precision in pastry preparation.
  • Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
