What You’ll Be Doing
As a Scaler Operator, you will play a critical role in maintaining safe working conditions within the quarry. Your responsibilities include:
- Scaling rock faces and removing loose material to prevent hazards.
- Inspecting highwalls, benches, and faces to identify potential risks.
- Coordinating with equipment operators and supervisors to plan and execute scaling activities.
- Operating scaling tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Supporting overall quarry safety and production through proactive hazard mitigation.

We seek candidates who demonstrate strong safety awareness and technical skill. Key qualifications include:
- Proven ability to work safely in underground mining or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong situational awareness with the ability to identify potential hazards.
- Comfort working at heights and in confined or variable conditions.
- Precision and control in using scaling tools and equipment.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Conditions of Employment
- Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
- Some positions require ongoing FMCSA-regulated drug and alcohol testing.
Work Environment
The role primarily operates in conditions with moving mechanical equipment, varying weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels. Adaptability and attention to safety are essential to thrive in this environment.
